Once again Round Rock, Texas has been given the prestigious honor of being one of the safest cities in the United States. The independent study of city crime statistics was conducted by CQ Press, took six categories into consideration: rape, robbery, aggravated assault, motor vehicle theft, and murder. Round Rock has placed 11^th based on cities with populations of over 100,000, continuing to be one of the safest cities in the US. This independent study goes further to rank Round Rock as the 29^th overall safest city in the US with populations over 75,000, and the 4^th safest city in Texas of comparable size.

There are so many things that make this city attractive, now you have just one more reason to make Round Rock, Texas your home. Remember, safety first…

Thermo Fisher to Bring Jobs to Round Rock

Good news for Round Rock, another major employer has announced that it is moving a production facility to the city. Thermo Fisher Scientific plans to move to Round Rock mid to late 2012, bringing approximately 150 new jobs to the area. Stay tuned for more information regarding the arrival of Thermo Fisher’s arrival.

With the arrival of Thermo Fisher and many other employers, you have just another reason to move to Round Rock.

Cedar Park to Welcome Costco

Well the economic growth in Cedar Park continues. After nearly four years of discussion, Costco just announced that in later 2012, they will be opening the doors to a Cedar Park location at the northwest corner of 1431 and toll 183a.

The Costco store will offer groceries, electronics, household good, a four lane gas station and so much more. This welcome addition to Cedar Park will not only bring ease and convenience, but also an additional 300 to 400 jobs to the area.

Construction is set to begin in the summer of 2012, so look for its door to open that winter.

Cedar Park to Welcome a Second Wal-Mart

Shopping in Cedar Park is going to get that much easier. Wal-Mart has expects to build another store in the area at the northwest corner of Ronald Regan Blvd and 1431. Typical of any new retail store, there will be in infusion of jobs to the area, roughly 300+ jobs in this 150,000 square foot store.

Like other Wal-Mart locations, there will be a grocery store, clothing, sporting goods, bakery and so much more. Unlike many other Wal-Mart locations, this new building promises to be more eco-friendly technologies to reduce their impact on the environment and this location will also operate a recycling program.

Wal-Mart also announced bringing several other locations here in the greater Austin area, stay tuned for more.
