I just thought I would compile a few reasons why to move to Austin, TX. Being that I’m partial to Austin, after living in several other cities across the US, I figured it’s time to let all you other people know what keeps me here. Now I couldn’t possibly sum up what makes Austin great in just a few words, this city deserves volumes, and believe, there are books out there, so I will just hit you with a few things people here in Austin like most.
I’ll start with jobs and education:

On to food, social, and entertainment:
- FOOD!!!!!! Austin has a food scene that rivals any city in the US. Whether it’s fine dining, or a burger joint, there is a wide variety of food here.
- After you have filled your belly with some of Austin’s delectable delights, time to hit the trails. Austin has over 193 miles of trails and scenic paths.
- SXSW. If you’re not from here, you may not have seen those initials before, but they stand for SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST. SXSW is the world’s biggest music festival; it doesn’t get any better than this.
- Austin is consistently listed as one of the top three Best Places for Singles in the US.
- In 1992, Austin was knighted Live Music Capital of the World, because it has more live music venues per capita than anywhere else in the nation.
- Forbes names Austin Least Stressful City to Live In out of 40 metro areas (August, 2009)
- 7. Barton Springs
- 8. Zilker Park is 351 acres of recreational fun. Whether it’s the annual Kite Festival, canoeing on Town Lake, or Zilker Hillside Theater, there are an abundance of things to do to keep you entertained…
