When construction in many markets moving at a slow pace or having to come to a complete stop, Austin keeps moving forward. Unlike many other markets we have not been hit nearly as drastically as others and you can find many builders and communities still erecting home after home which is beneficial for you as a buyer.
The great thing about new construction is that you can have things added to meet your specifications. Whether it’s blue carpet with pink walls or 42″ cherry wood cabinets and granite counter tops you can pick from a long list of amenities to customize you home. Builders have an array of floor plans, sizes, and elevations so all you have to do is figure which one you like most.
I wrote a previous post about taking advantage of your buying power and getting the best deal out there. ONe thing that most buyed don’t realize is that having an agent represent you in the purchase of your new home doesn’t cost you a penny. Not having a realtor represent you does not mean that the builder is going to price the house any less. The builders sales rep is looking out for the builders best interest, not yours, so why have them represent your interest as a buyer? Not saying that all builders lack moral character, but having someone on your side benefits you. Once the property conveys you are standing all alone against a builder if something is ever to go wrong. Builders often cater to realtors because they want us to bring them more business, so the last thing a builder wants to do is damage their relationship with the realtor who brings them business and is more likely to be helpful. There are too many benefits to list when having a realtor represent you on the purchase of your home, and I would be more than happy to assist.
